Nina Vetter has submitted her resignation as City
Manager for the City of Gresham, pending Council approval. Friday, Dec. 15
will be her last day.
Vetter joined Gresham in 2021 during a critical point in the organization’s
history. During her tenure, she has been instrumental in the development of the
City’s first long-term strategic plan, the financial roadmap, as well as
organizational culture work. Vetter also expanded
public safety efforts through the Safe Gresham initiative, invested in fire
station safety improvements and additional safety personnel through American
Rescue Plan Act funds, and guided the City in receiving millions in grant
funding.
“I am thankful for the opportunity to serve and
proud of what we have accomplished together. I am appreciative of the dedicated
staff and the community that I have become part of. The City of Gresham will
always have a special place in my heart.” said Vetter.
City Council is expected to appoint an Interim
City Manager later this week. Per the City of Gresham’s charter, the Interim
City Manager is a temporary position that shall not exceed six months while the
City conducts the search for a permanent City Manager.
Council will discuss the next steps for the
recruitment and hiring process of a new City Manager in the New
Year.
“We are grateful for Nina’s leadership and
service to the City of Gresham.” said Gresham Mayor Travis Stovall.
