Local youth ages 16-24 can apply for a paid summer internship at the City. Through our partnership with the SummerWorks program, City internships typically last 160 hours and take place between July and August.

Motivated young men and women develop leadership, teamwork and responsibility skills while exploring the firefighting profession.

We partner with Portland State University’s Multiple Engineering Cooperative Program (MECOP).
MECOP provides two, six-month paid internships for Oregon State University (OSU); Portland State University (PSU); Oregon Tech (OT); and University of Portland (UP) students in various engineering programs.
